CISA and CISM - Current News
The ISACA Education Department is pleased to announce that the ISACA e-Learning Campus is about to launch! For 2008 CISA & CISM examinations in June and December, the Trinidad & Tobago chapter will organise a study group & will be conducting review sessions for members sitting for the examination. CISA Certification Overview The technical skills and practices that CISA promotes and evaluates are the building blocks of success in the field. Possessing the CISA designation demonstrates proficiency and is the basis for measurement in the profession. With a growing demand for professionals possessing IS audit, control and security skills, CISA has become a preferred certification program by individuals and organizations around the world. CISA certification signifies commitment to serving an organization and the IS audit, control and security industry with distinction. In addition, it presents a number of professional and personal benefits. More than 55,000 professionals have earned the CISA since inception, so clearly many people agree: earning the CISA is a good career move. CISM Certification Overview The Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification program is developed specifically for experienced information security managers and those who have information security management responsibilities. The CISM certification is for the individual who manages, designs, oversees and/or assesses an enterprise’s information security (IS). The CISM certification promotes international practices and provides executive management with assurance that those earning the designation have the required experience and knowledge to provide effective security management and consulting services. Individuals earning the CISM certification become part of an elite peer network, attaining a one-of-a-kind credential. The CISM job practice also defines a global job description for the information security manager and a method to measure existing staff or compare prospective new hires. NEW! CGEIT - ISACA's IT Governance Certification Boards and executive management have long understood the need for enterprise and corporate governance. As information technology (IT) has become more important to the achievement of enterprise goals and delivery of benefits, there has been an increasing realization that governance must be extended to IT as well. IT governance is an integral part of enterprise governance and consists of the leadership and organizational structures and processes that ensure that the organization’s IT sustains and extends the organization’s strategies and objectives. A grandfathering provision is in place for a limited time, allowing highly experienced IT governance professionals to apply for certification without taking the CGEIT exam. Hundreds of applications have already been submitted, and will continue to be considered through October 2008. The application fee (in US dollars) for those applying through the grandfathering process is $595 for ISACA members, $660 for CISA- and/or CISM- certified professionals who are not ISACA members and $725 for all others. Details about the grandfathering provision and application information can be found at www.isaca.org/cgeitgfapp.
Initially, the campus will include the CISA ® Online Review Course. As you are most likely aware, this course has been in development for the past several months and included a vast number of ISACA chapter members as subject matter experts and reviewers.
When a learner uses the chapter-specific code ( see below ) at the time of payment, they will earn an additional 30 days on their course subscription length .

The mark of excellence for a professional certification program is the value and recognition it bestows on the individual who achieves it. Since 1978, the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) program, sponsored by ISACA®, has been the globally accepted standard of achievement among information systems (IS) audit, control and security professionals.
